Meet Beverly Scoon of SoloMama LaunchPad

At SoloMama LaunchPad, the focus is clear: supporting single mothers in building sustainable businesses and creating long-term stability for their families.

As Chief Operating Officer, Beverly Scoon helps lead this purpose-driven nonprofit, creating a supportive and inclusive platform where single mothers gain the skills, tools, and confidence to launch and sustain successful businesses.

SoloMama LaunchPad was inspired by lived experience. As a single mother raising three children, Beverly faced significant barriers, including relying on government assistance and food banks to support her family. During that time, she discovered her resilience and refused to believe that single mothers should have to choose between providing for their children and pursuing their potential. That belief continues to shape the work she does today.

One of the biggest lessons she’s learned as a professional is that growth comes through action. “The real learning happens when you put something out there, a service, a pitch, a social media post and see how people respond. You can always refine as you go. Progress beats perfection every time.” It’s a mindset that keeps momentum moving forward.

On challenging days, Beverly thinks about the single mothers SoloMama LaunchPad serves. She reflects on what it means for a woman to go from struggling, to surviving, to truly thriving, building something of her own, achieving financial independence, and showing her children what’s possible. That impact is what keeps her motivated.

When she’s not working, family time refuels her. Whether it’s a simple dinner together, a conversation about the day, or just being present in the same room, those moments bring clarity and reconnect her to her “why.”

Beverly is a Virtual Mail Plan Member at The Village Hive, using The Village Hive in North York as her professional business address and accessing meeting space at all three of our locations when needed. Having a trusted, professional home base matters especially when leading a mission-driven organization and she values being connected to a broader community of entrepreneurs and remote professionals who support one another.
