The Village Hive Coworking at Toronto Tech Week

This past Wednesday, as part of Toronto Tech Week, we had the privilege of hosting two incredible events that brought together founders, innovators, investors, educators, and business leaders from across different industries.

In the morning, we welcomed the Canadian Women’s Chamber of Commerce (CanWCC) for Flip the Script (see link in comments for more info on their incredible program) a thought-provoking discussion about bias in investment decision-making and the challenges many founders continue to face when seeking funding.

A huge thank you to moderator Nancy Wilson, CEO of CanWCC, and panelists Diana Wolfenden, Janice Byrne, Faith Oloruntoba (Founder of Cotriply), and Laura Venier (Founder of Arche Biotechnologies) for sharing their experiences, insights, and perspectives. These are the conversations that help create a more inclusive and equitable future for entrepreneurship.

Later in the day, we hosted The Showcase Room with The AI Collective Canada and Segmentide. This event brought together founders from both tech and non-tech businesses to showcase what they’re building, share wins, tackle marketing and operational challenges, and support one another in getting to the next level. The energy in the room was collaborative, generous, and genuinely inspiring. Great to have Jireh Lau, PMP, Jega K., Elham Araboff, Lia Foster Ujimoto, Vlad Khomutov (elllo.ai) and others in the room!

A special thank you to Keerthana M. for bringing this community together.

These events are an important reminder that innovation doesn’t happen in isolation. It happens when people gather, ask better questions, share what they’ve learned, and help each other move forward.

We’re grateful The Village Hive Coworking could be the place where those conversations happened and we look forward to more!
