Celebrating 10 years of coworking, community, and connection in Markham.
We have some wonderful news to share!
The Village Hive has been named 1st Place Diamond Winner for Best Overall Business Service in the 2026 Markham Economist & Sun Readers’ Choice Awards! 🎉
After 10 years in business, this recognition feels especially meaningful.
When we opened our first coworking space in Markham Village in 2016, our vision was to create something more than just a place to work. We wanted to bring people together, create opportunities for meaningful connections, and build a community where entrepreneurs and professionals could feel supported.
Ten years later, that vision continues to guide everything we do.
And knowing that our community has recognized us with this award makes it all the more special.

More Than Just a Coworking Space in Markham
At The Village Hive, we’ve always believed that coworking is about so much more than desks, private offices, meeting rooms, and WiFi.
It’s about the people.
It’s the conversations over coffee. The connections that turn into collaborations. The encouragement shared between fellow entrepreneurs. The friendships that grow when people work alongside one another.
And sometimes, it’s simply having someone greet you with a smile when you walk through the door.
These everyday moments are what make The Village Hive feel like a community.
Whether someone visits for a single coworking day, books a meeting room, or makes The Hive their regular workspace, we want them to feel welcome, comfortable, and connected.
Because while having a great place to work matters, having a community around you can make all the difference.
Celebrating 10 Years of Supporting Local Businesses
Our story began in 2016 in a charming historic schoolhouse in Markham Village.
What started as a coworking space for entrepreneurs and remote workers has grown into a community serving professionals and businesses across three GTA locations: Markham, North York, and Yonge & Eglinton in Toronto.
Today, The Village Hive offers flexible coworking memberships, private offices, meeting rooms, virtual office services, and spaces for entrepreneurs, remote workers, small business teams, and wellness professionals.
But our purpose has remained the same.
We believe that work feels better when people have opportunities to connect, collaborate, and support one another.
And we’re grateful to have spent the past decade helping create those opportunities.
A Heartfelt Thank You to Our Community
Being recognized as the 2026 Diamond Winner for Best Overall Business Service in Markham is an honour we’re incredibly proud of.
But what makes it most meaningful is knowing that it comes from the people and community around us.
To our wonderful members, guests, partners, friends, neighbouring businesses, and everyone who took the time to vote for The Village Hive — THANK YOU! 💛
Thank you for choosing our spaces, sharing your ideas, attending our events, supporting one another, and helping make The Hive such a special place.
Every conversation, connection, collaboration, and friendship contributes to the community we’ve built together.
This award is a celebration of all of you, too.
Here’s to Many More Years of Connection!
As we celebrate our 10th anniversary and this special recognition, we’re feeling incredibly grateful for the journey so far.
We’re proud to be part of the Markham business community and excited to continue supporting entrepreneurs, independent professionals, remote workers, and local businesses for years to come.
Because at the end of the day, it’s never just about the space.
It’s about the people who make it special.
Thank you for being part of our story. Here’s to many more years of working, connecting, and growing together! 🐝
